Big Al’s Burgers in Kanab

Was told 45 to one hour wait, ordered and return in one hour! Wait an additional hour to receive food, missing onion ring, waited another 10 mins, one burger was burnt out of three, the cheese on the our grilled was not melted, tots were cold, shake was not cold, SAD a local spot failed so badly. Pizza place crossed the street much better service!

Family-owned diner that serves good quality burgers and food. The Quarter pound burger was delicious. Reasonably priced too!

Quality burgers, well made with good ingredients. Fries are very good with the delicious skins still attached. Yummy. You have to wait a little while but good fresh food takes time to cook.

I had one of their Buffalo Burgers. It was pretty good! I have had better, but its substantially better than fast food. I love that they are dog friendly too. They have lots of outdoor seating for those who want to eat with their pooch.

Friendly counter service. Good food priced right for the area. Interesting menu selection, burger combinations I never would have thought of. I got there Big Red combo with fry sauce (50c extra)

Burgers were ok. However the onion rings were definitely worth getting. Girlfriend loves onions and I love her. Thanks big Al for the experience.

Due to Covid, you order inside but eat outside or take out. Bad was we waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers and fries. Good news was food was made to order and DELICIOUS! We appreciate that its locally owned and operated. HANG IN THERE!

The place was very different you could park right next to your table and walk in and order I personally got the big red and it was indefinitely one of the top 5 best burgers I've ever had it was amazing!!!

Recommend their Buffalo burger and onion rings. If you like meat double the patty. It is one of a must stop joint on the way to Page from Las Vegas.

I'll be honest that I didn't expect to find such and amazing burger at a roadside joint in SW Utah. But the double buffalo burger from Big Al's is one of the most delicious fast food burgers I've had in awhile. The nice lady at the counter asked me if I wanted fry sauce for dipping. Being a non-native Utahan I had no idea what she was talking about, when she explained it was a homemade combo of ketchup and mayo, I replied "yes please!" It was a terrific accoutrement and one that I hope will make it to the Midwest one day. But if your in Kanab and have a taste for a burger, splurge on the double buffalo at Big Al's, you won't regret it.

Regular sized bun with world smallest, thinnest patty ever. Oh p.s. it was under cooked as well, how do you under cook a paper thin patty!? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I will say this, The fry sauce was delicious, and the bathroom was clean. (Hence 2 stars) But I think if you're starving for a hearty burger probably not the joint to settle that craving. Head further down the road to spend your $8 elsewhere.

This is a favorite stop for our entire family when traveling between Arizona and Utah. They have a big menu, but we almost always get the Rustler burgers with fries and a drink (value meal). The cashiers are not very friendly, but the burgers and fries are great! I sometimes opt for the sweet potato fries which are delicious as well.

This place is a must stop if you are going through Kanab. I thought I've had good burgers in the past, but this place surpasses any burger that I have ever had. Not only are the burgers exceptional, but the service is one of a kind. Lastly, you have to get the fry sauce that they have. You won't regret it!

Freshly made or not it shouldn't take an hour to make a hamburger. Twice I went there both times it was 45min to an hour wait. Food wasn't all that great. Fries were cold burger also seemed like it had been sittin for a few.

Grilled Buffalo Burgers, Yes please I will take a double. Add some sweet potato fries and we are set. Kanab has a good burger joint and you need to go check it out. Did I mention the Captain Crunch shake! Good friendly service, reasonable price, great tasting food and quick service. Thanks guy, you did good.

Discovered this place on our way from AZ to OR, and let me tell ya!! Not only is it super affordable, but the staff is amazing! There's a drive-thru as well. I highly recommend this burger joint! I got 2 rustler burgers, lrg onion rings (best fry sauce in 3 states), a lrg soda and a blueberry shake (made with real fruit and creamy vanilla ice cream), all for under $20!!! If you haven't tried them then you're missing out BIG TIME! 5/5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So good and so worth it. I can't remember for sure but it was something like $5 for a good sized fresh cooked burger and fries. I'll definitely be back sometime

By far the best burger I've ever had. I would of posted a Pic of it, but I ate it right when it came out. This is a must stop, but make sure you're plenty hungry. It's not for for a really small appetite.

Great lil burger place. Good food for a good value. The bison burger was great, and the staff were super friendly. If your a traveler, this is a good place to stop for a casual meal.

Best buffalo burgers here! This is a great local buisness to support. I stop here every time i drive remotly close! Definatly get what you pay for!

The food was A+, however they should get a better ordering system when people walk up. (During Covid) and not being able to go inside.

First time visitor just passing through town. I had an Outlaw burger... it was a great bacon cheeseburger! Friendly service and clean restaurant. I ordered a single and I wish I had ordered a double, cuz I would have liked more meat on a burger. If I lived closer I would definitely come back! They have covered outdoor seating only during the COVID pandemic

I hate places that charge for condiments like fry sauce. I understand it cost money but at a certain point when they are asking for a tip at a fast food place and charging extras, it feels like you are getting nickeled and dimed. The food was good just like any decent burger joint.

We were really excited to eat here, we were starving and drove a long way. Walked in 30 min before closing and they told us they weren’t serving food, they’d stopped 5 minutes ago. We asked why since it was still early and the response was “because the boss told us so”. Unfortunate way to do business.

If your in a hurry don’t bother coming here. They like to take their precious time even with 5 cooks in the back all too worried about their mullets. Not worth the wait.

Pretty good burger. Sweet potato fries were good as well. Service needs a little work, but it was dinnertime so they were pretty busy.

Grocery store is expensive. Big Al's is not. Good burgers.

All the charm and charisma of your archetypal small-town drive-in, with amazing burgers. Slower than average service, but that can be forgiven as soon as you take that first delicious bite! A++

It's not a chain and is very inexpensive. The food is ok, I was hoping for a bit better but still I recommend it over the McDonald's next door

Just stopped here for a hamburger, fries, and a shake. The burgers are awesome! The homemade fry sauce is the best! And the heath shake was so yummy! We will definitely come back when we drive through Kanab. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good quality food made while you wait!

Had a Big Red Burger w fries. My mother had the chicken strip salad w fries. We also ordered a foot long dog and a grilled chicken sandwich. The Big Red burger had thick bacon and the pickles really made the burger. Buns on both sandwiches and the foot long dog were buttered/browned on the grill. Veggies were cool and crisp in the salad. All of the food was excellent. Inside was very clean they had staff cleaning seating areas the whole time. They have great covered outdoor seating where you can wait for your order outside. Awesome place to grab a quick bite or dinner for the whole family. I hear the shakes and desserts are great. Prices were very reasonable too. Easy walk from most of the hotels.

Popular spot for burgers and shakes. Good outdoor seating. We had burned buffalo burgers and burned sweet potato fries. The shake was good.

We're on our way back from Lake Powell stops here to eat. I would tell anybody to try this place out. It was really good, loved the burger love the fries.

This place has the best burgers in the region, bar none. It also has Buffalo Burgers, shakes, tots, fries, all in all it is a rather amazing place. It is easy to find, right next to the McDonalds, and the locals snicker when they see out of towners pull into the drive through for a generic big mac when they could go to Big Al's for a real burger and fries. Friendly staff, plan on a bit of a wait as the food is cooked fresh and they do get busy, but they are open from 10am to 10pm, closed on Sundays. Go here and you will not regret the stop, and will divert through Kanab the next time you are within 100 miles for another shake and a burger.
